Experimental cooking can be a source of deep joy--or agony--depending on how it turns out. The perfect meal shared with a good companion puts me in a deliciously good mood. But unhealthy, un-tasty, untimely meals put me in a frump. This is my quest for good foods and good moods.

More oven lovin'
Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins
Wet ingredients:
2 mashed bananas
1 egg
1/4 cup oil
2/3 cup sugar
Dry ingredients:
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
pinch salt
Add wet to dry, stir a little then fold in
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Spoon into muffin cups, cook until they look done at 350.
Still lovin the oven. (Now all I need to do is visit the Love Library, right Julie?)

Here's for random connections. I was browsing certain ORTV colleagues' blogs when I start coming across the same commentor multiple times. I say to myself: hmm... must be connected to ORTV somehow, and so go on to look at her blog. :)
Seems like we just missed each other, Emily. I started working at ORTV in June 2005. I'm also working on Studio Classroom (writing, editing). In fact, I remember, when I applied for the job, reading a Travel article you wrote about a trip to Hawaii.
Anyway, to get to the point. I was inspired by your "pesto pizza" post. I decided to try it myself, with certain Taiwan adaptations (no pine nuts, and congyou bing from Welcome for the pizza crust). The first time I made it (yesterday), I took it to the Fry's and it was a complete success. The second time (tonight), I made it for my boyfriend, put too much basil on it, and was duly disappointed. Which especially bites because I made it yesterday as a "trial-run" for tonight. I'm now languishing in the resulting sullen mood.
But thanks for the idea! I plan to make another go at it for a dinner with my small group leader on Wednesday! :)
Hi Lisa! I've seen you on Rachel's blog a few times :-) It's very nice to meet you.
Funny thing, I started making pizzas at home because Billy and Yenling Leonard had my husband and I over for toaster oven pizzas once. Anyhow, I'm tickled that you tried the pesto pizza. I have to warn you that I make stuff without really measuring, so whatever recipe I post might not be accurate.
Sounds like you're also a moody foodie ;-) I'll be sneaking over to your blog too.
